The Car

This mini is classed as a ‘Super Mini’ within the “Super Mini Challenge Race Series” sanctioned by Motorsport NZ. There are four classes of mini in this series, being:
1. Mini Sevens
2. Mini Miglia
3. Super Mini
4. Mini Open Class

The Super Mini vehicles have a slightly higher performance than the Miglia. Rick van Swet built the car, using the best developed components available at the time. You will find her details and specifications below. Rick raced it from 2009-2016 before selling it on. I happened to find it on Trade Me, and felt it would be a great starting out car.

Since purchasing, she has had a bit of a tidy up, with a new race seat, new harness and a full engine tune up and a few replacement components. There is more that I could do, but just one step at a time at the moment!

“ I just bought this mini and put it in my wife’s hay barn.  I think I’m going to have to tell her now…”
